Funeral Mass for Cecilio Martinez Mendez, 69, of Painesville, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church, 242 N. State St., Painesville.
Cecilio passed away Friday, July 3, 2020, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 23, 1950, in Nuevo Valle de Moreno, Mexico.
Cecilio was the loving father of Juana (Abel) Ornelas, Cecilio (Alejandra) Martinez Jr., Graciela Martinez Valdivia (Antonio Garcia), Antonio Martinez Valdivia, and Luis Martinez Valdivia; cherished grandfather of John Ornelas, Fatima Martinez, Brandy Ornelas, Abigail Garcia, Pablo Garcia, Destiny Ornelas, Jazmine Martinez and Jocelyn Ornelas and Josgart Martinez; and great-grandfather of Maricruz Ornelas.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Cruz Valdivia.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby.
