Obituary for Charles George Platia Jr.

Charles George Platia Jr., 98, of Willoughby Hills, passed away May 13, 2020, at The Gardens of McGregor in East Cleveland.
Born Sept. 29, 1921, in Manhattan, N.Y., he had lived in Mayfield before moving to Lake County 15 years ago.
Charles was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post 146 and was a longtime New York Yankee’s fan.
Mr. Platia had served as councilman for the City of Wickliffe during the 1950s and 1960s.
He was the loving father of Charles M. (Mary Lou) Platia Sr. of Willoughby Hills; cherished grandfather of Charlie M. Platia Jr. and Michelle (Chris) Kytta; great-grandfather of Charlie III, and Milania Platia, and Christian Kytta; and brother of 10.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Platia; great-grandchild, Zack; and parents, Charles G. Sr. and Ciacoma (nee Fruggio) Platia.
Private services and burial will be held.
