Obituary for Dolores Jacqueline Valentino

Funeral Mass for Dolores Jacqueline (nee Maloney) Valentino, 80, of Willoughby Hills, will be 12 noon Saturday at St. Justin Martyr Church, 35781 Stevens Blvd., Eastlake.
Mrs. Valentino passed away Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020, at her residence.
Born Jan. 4, 1940, in Cleveland Heights, she had been a resident of Lake County for 56 years, living in the Ridge Acres area of Willoughby for 50 years before moving to Willoughby Hills.
Dolores was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby and enjoyed the annual Oktoberfest. She was a fun loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her smile lit up the room and her kindness shined just as bright.
After many years working at Bob Evans, Dolores started her new venture as "Paper Dee," wallpapering. Dolores enjoyed making ceramics and creating flower arrangements. She was further talented with cooking and specialty baking. You could always find her enjoying life while dancing and getting together with family and friends. She loved playing the slot machines in Vegas and bringing her five children and their families together. Her faith was steadfast and she led the family by her actions, as a very warm and devoted wife and mother.
Dolores was the beloved wife of 60 years to Leo Valentino; loving mother of Deanne (Robert) Ross, James (Kim) Valentino, Richard Valentino, Lori Valentino (Ron Stack), and Tammy (Jack) Petrecca; honorary mother of Rick Klimek; cherished grandmother of Mackenzi and Madison Ross, Steven McAninch, Jimmy (Cali), Nick (Kari), Anthony and Amber Valentino, Aaron and Isabel Stack, Kasey and Jack Petrecca; great-grandmother of Laia Valentino, Isaiah Baker, Briella, Alanah and “Baby-on-the-Way” Valentino; sister of Ronald (Marian) Maloney, Dale (Sandra) Maloney and Carol (Don) Beljan; sister-in-law of Tom Plesec, Fran Makowski, Chuck Valentino, Frank and Janice Valentino, Audrey Laird, and Don Strugar; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George G. and Helen M. (nee Schultz) Maloney; sister, Gail Plesec; brothers-in-law, Gene Makowski, Howard Laird and Arnie Strugar; and sister-in-law, Diane Valentino.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, and from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Contributions in her name are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
