Obituary for Robert M Shugar
Robert M. Shugar, 83, of Willowick, passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willowick.
Born Aug. 29, 1936, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for 45 years.
Robert was a U.S. Army veteran, member of American Legion Post 678 in Willowick, and American Legion Post 336 in Painesville. He enjoyed roller skating, playing the drums, was a member of the “We Three” band, and loved polkas. He was also involved in sports and had coached football, baseball and basketball in the Willowick sports program.
He was the loving father of Kimberly A. Allison and Anthony M. Shugar; cherished grandfather of David (Holly) Turner and Marissa Allison; great-grandfather of Jason; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Mike L. and Julia (nee Kantor) Shugar; and brother, James (Janet, dec.) Shugar.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life service to be held at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
